It seems at the last minute the Information Commissioners Office had a change of mind on how consent of cookies could be interpreted.

 

It seems at the last minute the Information Commissioners Office had a change of mind on how consent of cookies could be interpreted.

It is now suggesting website owners can assume visitors are giving Implied Consent by visiting their site, so placing the emphasis on the user rather than the website owner.

Of course it's still a very grey area and you should take every caution before flooding users with cookies but it feels as though the pressure is off, a little!
